Unable to access phpMyAdmin

Some people experience problems when trying to access phpMyAdmin from their control panel. This usually happens after the password of the hosting account was changed.

When this happens, you may see a ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS, “The page isn’t redirecting properly” or “redirected you too many times” error.

This article explains what you can do to regain access to phpMyAdmin.

Clear your browser’s cache and cookies for the control panel and phpMyAdmin

When you change your account’s password, you will still be logged to phpMyAdmin with your old database credentials. Since these database credentials are no longer correct, phpMyAdmin can no longer connect to your database and breaks.

To fix this, you can remove the cache and cookies of your web browser for both the control panel domain (cpanel.epizy.com) and the phpMyAdmin domain (185.27.134.10).

Open the control panel and phpMyAdmin in private browsing mode

Sometimes, clearing cache and cookies will still not let you access phpMyAdmin. If that happens, you can also try to access phpMyAdmin through Private Browsing or Incognito mode in your web browser. Using private browsing mode is a great way to circumvent all caches of your browser. This will usually let you access phpMyAdmin.

Change the account password

Sometimes, if you change your password, the password isn’t processed correctly in the database server. You can force the password to be reset again by changing your hosting account password through the client area. Please make sure to use a different password initially, although you can change the password back to the original password you were using afterwards.

After changing the hosting account password, please wait for at least 15 minutes for the changes to go through the system. During this time, you may also want to clear cache and cookies to help make sure you will actually use the new password for phpMyAdmin.

A post was split to a new topic: phpMyAdmin does not work

I think it’s worth noticing that while the domain php-myadmin.net looks appealing, you never visit that address directly, as the login page for it has been disabled, and would throw an error like “Too many redirects”. You must login with the links found in the Control Panel / Client Area.

I have seen issues caused by visiting the address directly.
