[SOLVED] Frequent MySQL database connection errors on SQL212

Since a few days, many people are reporting frequently getting database connection errors on their websites.

The issue seems to be related to database server sql212.epizy.com. You can see your assigned database server in the control panel.

The error may show up as a generic message like “Error establishing the database connection”, or more specifically as a “1040 Too many connections” error.

We’re currently trying to investigate the issue, but the random nature makes it hard to track down. So any useful details you can provide that may help in identifying and fixing this issue are welcome.

We are aware of the issue and are doing our best to get this resolved as soon as possible.

I completely understand that this may cause confusion and you will have additional questions. I am happy to provide any information I have to help you.

However, to keep the contents of this topic clean, clear and concise, I ask that you carefully read the Outage Communication Rules before posting.

In a nutshell:

  • Please keep the posts about the outage in this topic, and all posts not about this outage outside of this topic.
  • Please post relevant questions only that have not been answered yet. It may be compelling to ask obvious questions like “when will this be fixed”, but basic information like that will be put in this message as soon as we know it.
  • Please carefully check the known symptoms and affected components.
    • If you are on the affected components, you are almost certainly affected by the outage. If so, please refrain from simply stating you are affected, it does not help get your service back up faster.
    • If you are not on the affected components but do experience all of the symptoms, please say so below so we can check if our list is incomplete.
    • If you do not experience all listed issues and are not on the components that are known to be affected, the issue you are experiencing is most likely not related to this outage. If so, please create a new topic in the Hosting Support category and describe the issue there.
  • If you say you are affected by the outage, please always include your website URL. I can’t check if you are affected by the outage if you don’t say which of your websites is affected.

Posts that do not follow these rules may be deleted without warning. This is to help ensure that all the relevant information is easily available to everyone reading this topic.

now it is okay

502 bad gateway

I have received confirmation from iFastNet that the issue has been identified and that the database server was indeed overloaded. Additional capacity has been added to the server to reduce load and the account allocation system has been updated to give the server some rest for a while.

Most database connection issues should be resolved for now. If you still get the issues, please consider creating a new hosting account and moving your website to it, which will be on a different database server.

Hi there I am still experiencing issues with this on the sql212.epizy.com server and I cannot create a new account as that is disabled at the moment.
I keep on getting database errors and 502 bad gateway it is impossible to work on my website at the moment.

An Idea that I had maybe for the future you could implement a database migration feature were it would allow users to move their database to another server without having to make a new account.

Thanks for keeping us up to date with the issues.

As the outage communication rules state: always include a website URL.

You say your website is on the server and your website is having issues, so can you please share the URL to that website? We can’t check otherwise.

I can’t check your site without the password, but it looks like it is working fine. Try clearing your cache.

Prior to this I have been unable to save the catalog in Prestashop. The sav button just keeps spinning and does not respond to clicks. I uninstalled then reinstalled and then tryied thirty bees and they all have the same issue. If this outage is the cause please confirm as I have wasted 2 days trying to fix it.

Many thanks

Great idea but the database connection error affects debug code also. :frowning:

Is this issue going to be resolved any time soon? Not a viable service if your site is unavailable most of the time.

What do you mean by that?
