I’m trying to upload a zip file. I’ve tried uploading just the zip, and it seems to cut off half way, then when I attempt to extract, it doesn’t perform an extraction. I’ve tried upload and extract, which doesn’t seem to work. I’ve tried extracting before upload, and it seems to glitch out and fail to upload the file.
This seems to be on par with my experience elsewhere, so I’m not exactly blaming InfinityFree, although I thought The Netherlands may have done something right. Can someone check the logs/network traffic, et cetera? This seems super bizarre. If I have to work on other things, so be it, but it seemed like a neat offering.
As far as I understand, the maximum file size limit is set to 10 MB. Your ZIP file may be compressed and contain files exceeding this limit. I would recommend splitting your ZIP into smaller segments and uploading them sequentially. Alternatively, you could use external FTP clients like FileZilla for more efficient transfers.
Thank you for the clarification. It’s unusual that the extraction isn’t working via either method, but I understand your frustration.
If the zip file is already uploaded to your FTP, here’s a potential workaround:
Extract the zip locally on your computer to access its contents.
Split the extracted files into smaller, manageable parts (e.g., by folder or file size).
Upload these smaller segments individually to the directory.
The reason the extraction might fail could be due to the compressed zip file containing content exceeding the 10MB limit. Even if the zip itself is compressed, the uncompressed data inside may still surpass the threshold, preventing successful extraction.
This approach should help bypass the limitation while preserving your files. Let me know if you need further guidance!
Please refrain from using AI to write posts here on the forum. It does not have enough information on the free hosting system to be relied on, and is known to make stuff up.
@AnthonyBrianMallgren, please extract the files on your machine and upload the individual files.
The file manager is buggy, unzipping does not always work correctly, or at all. Using a client like FileZilla and increasing the number of concurrent connections (it’s set pretty low by default) will increase the speed at which you can upload your files.
I’m doing data processing locally. Stingy with the watts, amps, volts, and ohms, are you? I guess I’d rather deplete local energy than global energy. Pity my Raspberry PI may be taking a hit though.
Yes i noticed that this error is common amon free hosting . Your only solution is to use direct FTP software.
Avoid uploafing via file manger and dong upload zip of your project
