I created my infinityfree account while ago. I connected a domain which belongs to me and uploaded a wordpress website on that domain. For some reason the connected epz account was deleted from infinityfree. Now creating a hosting account doesn’t let me connect to my domain and I can’t even remove the domain from a deleted account. It throws an error which is:
The selected custom domain is already in use on InfinityFree. Please remove the custom domain from your other account at InfinityFree before you can add it to a new account.
It’s a namecheap domain and I also removed the previously infinityfree DNS settings from namecheap but still it doesn’t work. It would be great if someone can help me here to connect my domain to the new hosting account.
That was nameserver status and the hosting account status says:
The domain is assigned to an InfinityFree account, but not an account owned by you.
In fact, it was my account and I can see the domain in my deleted hosting account. Not sure what it means. By the way thank you very much for your response.
What do you mean by this? You can’t open deleted accounts, and domains are not connected to deleted accounts. If you are just reading the title of the deleted account, note that is just a name, it does not mean anything.
Well, you need to point your domain to the correct nameservers in order to host it here. What is your domain name?
You will need to change the nameservers with NameCheap.
And I see that the domain is connect to a free hosting server. Partnered with the fact that the domain checker says it is assigned to an account, I don’t think the account was deleted. Or if the account was deleted, the domain now belongs to a new account.
In the past I created a host account on the infinityfree and connected the domain. That host account is now deleted. Not sure why but I can see it in the deleted account. If I own the domain, how can it belongs to another account? Only I can make the settings. And by the way, I already removed the nameservers from namecheap.
