A certificate being “Pending” means it’s waiting for you to complete the verification steps and move the request along. It will not leave this state automatically. If you just keep staring at the list of certificates and waiting for things to happen, you’ll be waiting for a very long time.
Please click Manage next to the certificate, and follow the instructions shown to move the order along.
Now click on “Request Certificate” and wait for the certificate to be issued, after which the page will be refreshed, then click on the button to install the SSL certificate automatically and you should be done!
After waiting some time and trying to visit your website through HTTPS, if it works you might also consider following this article to force all traffic to that protocol:
I did all that. clicked on “Request Certificate” and then clicked on the button to install the SSL certificate automatically. This is where I’m at… waiting!
I won’t be installing wordpress or anything for the time being other than a landing page.
Thanks for your reply.
Maybe I clicked it before it was ready? Anyway whatever the reason I just went through the exact same process and did it again…
Should be good now, thanks for your help!
I would recommend “Awaiting Client Action” when the user need to setup CNAME or install the certificate and “Awaiting System Action” when the certificate is being issued or is already installed but not take effect yet.
Thanks for the input! I’ve changed it to “Action Required” per @Jri-Creator’s suggestion. It’s clear, but it’s also short, which is helpful when it’s displayed in a table on mobile devices.
