SSL Certificate “Not Found” – Tried All Steps, Still Not Working Body:

Hi InfinityFree team,

I’m trying to set up SSL (Let’s Encrypt) for my custom domain, nataqua.com, using the Free SSL Certificates tool. The certificate status is “Issued” and I’ve both used the “Install Automatically” button and manually pasted the Private Key and Certificate into the SSL/TLS section of the control panel multiple times.

However, in Step 5, the status always shows “Not Found,” and my site keeps serving a self-signed certificate instead of the Let’s Encrypt certificate.
I’ve double-checked my DNS settings, waited for propagation, cleared cache, and retried the installation process several times over more than 24 hours, but the problem persists.

Is there anything else I can do, or is this a known issue with SSL on the free plan for custom domains?

Attached is a screenshot showing the issue. The SSL certificate status is “Issued,” but Step 5 always shows “Not Found” no matter how many times I try to install it automatically or manually.

Thanks for any help or advice!

What certificate issuer are you using? There appears to be a certificate on your site but it is not issued correctly.

Thanks for the quick response!

I’m using the Let’s Encrypt certificate provided through InfinityFree’s Free SSL Certificates tool. The dashboard says “Issued” (see my attached screenshot above), but my site keeps serving a self-signed/default certificate, and Step 5 always shows “Not Found.”

I’ve tried both automatic and manual installation multiple times, and my DNS settings appear to be correct.

When I test with SSL Labs, it says the certificate on the site is self-signed and not from Let’s Encrypt.

Is there anything else I should check or do? Thanks for any help!

I am seeing this instead

So my guess is could be due to this

Please share your dns records.

Alternatively, please set your domain to use IF nameservers

@ v=DMARC1; p=none; rua=mailto:[email protected]

My nameservers are still pointed to NameBright, not InfinityFree.

Should I switch my nameservers to ns1.infinityfree.com and ns2.infinityfree.com to make SSL work? If I do that, will I be able to re-add my Google Workspace MX, SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records through InfinityFree’s DNS panel to keep my email working?

Just want to confirm the best approach before changing anything.

Thanks for your help!

I just changed them to ns1.infinityfree.com and ns2.infinityfree.com

Seems to be working now

are not supported on free hosting

This is not the right IP address to use.

You can find the correct one under in the client area, in the Account Details panel listed as Website IP.

You don’t need to use our nameservers to use our hosting. But if you do use third party nameservers, please make sure to configure them correctly. If you don’t, then you website may not work, and neither will the SSL certificate you installed on your account.
