SSL certificate issued but self-signed certificate is being served

Error Message

Hello InfinityFree Team,

I am facing an SSL issue with my custom domain.

Account ID: if0_42229869
Domain: j15techlab.com

I have verified the following:

  • The domain is correctly assigned to my hosting account.
  • The nameservers are:
    ns1.infinityfree.com
    ns2.infinityfree.com
  • The SSL certificate status is “Issued”.
  • I clicked “Install SSL Certificate Automatically” multiple times and it says the certificate was installed successfully.

However, HTTPS is still not working.

The browser shows:
NET::ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID

SSL Labs reports:
Certificate name mismatch

OpenSSL shows the server is still serving a self-signed certificate:

subject=CN=*
issuer=CN=*

The SSL verification page also shows:
Verify Installation: Not Found

The free subdomain (j15techlab.freedev.app) works correctly with HTTPS, but the custom domain (j15techlab.com) does not.

Could you please check the SSL binding/virtual host configuration for my custom domain and ensure the Let’s Encrypt certificate is being served?

Thank you.

the certificate looks to be working fine to me:

So maybe try clearing cache and try again?

Also since you’re using a custom domain, you may want to look into using Cloudflare, that can help with forcing all traffic to HTTPS, reduce your server load (helping avoid suspensions), and help avoid ddos attacks.

Here’s a guide if you’re intrested:
