Softaculous WordPress database exists and is working, but is not visible in MySQL Databases

Website URL

truetropical.co

Error Message

Hello,

I have a WordPress installation on my custom domain truetropical.co that was installed through Softaculous.

The website is working normally, but the MySQL database created by Softaculous is not visible in the InfinityFree MySQL Databases section, so I cannot access it through phpMyAdmin to make a backup.

Current WordPress database information

WordPress Site Health → Info → Database reports:

  • Database name: if042851036_wp670
  • Database host: sql211.byetcluster.com
  • Database username: 42851036_1
  • Table prefix: wpii_
  • Server version: MariaDB 11.4.13
  • Database charset: utf8mb4

The WordPress site is currently functioning normally using this database.

What happened

The database if042851036_wp670 does not appear in the InfinityFree MySQL Databases list.

I understand there is a known issue where databases created by Softaculous may not be properly synchronized with the MySQL Databases management interface.

While troubleshooting, I tried creating a database through the MySQL Databases interface. The interface automatically used the account prefix:

if0_42851036_

This resulted in:

if0_42851036_wp670

I opened that database in phpMyAdmin and it contained no tables. I subsequently deleted that empty database.

The original database remains untouched and WordPress continues to work normally.

What I need

Could an administrator please check the hosting account and make the existing database

if042851036_wp670

visible/manageable through the MySQL Databases section/phpMyAdmin?

I specifically want to access the existing database so I can create a backup. I do not want the existing database recreated, replaced, or deleted.

Hosting account username: if0_42851036

Thank you.

@WizardM

Can you try this?

Thanks for the clarification.

I actually tried this workaround before posting the issue.

The database created by Softaculous and currently used by the live WordPress installation is:

if042851036_wp670

When I used the MySQL Databases interface to create the database, InfinityFree did not create if042851036_wp670. Instead, it created:

if0_42851036_wp670

That database was empty and was clearly separate from the live database, so I deleted it rather than risk affecting the WordPress installation.

Could you please advise how I can create/restore visibility of the existing database if042851036_wp670 specifically, given that the MySQL Databases interface automatically generates the different if0_42851036_... name?

I have not modified the live database, and the WordPress site is currently working normally.

The database name is clearly corrupted, this bug have happened a handful of times recently, but still you’ll need to wait for Admin.
