That’s expected, you can’t use the database here with external software.

Our databases are not accessible from the internet. The sqlXXX.infinityfree.com hostnames look like valid DNS names, but they are not actually configured in DNS. And when they were, they would only return internal IPs, so you still wouldn’t be able to connect to them.

So are you trying to connect to your database from your website with us or from elsewhere? If it’s from elsewhere, then it’s not possible, and that’s by design. If you are unable to connect to your database from your website hosted on our servers, please tell us more about the actual issue you’re having on your website.

I am trying to connect externally as I do not need to host my website, I just need to host my database.

I’m sorry, but for that use case, I suggest you look for another provider. We provide a website hosting service, and provide databases only for use with websites on our hosting. If you need general purpose database hosting, please find another provider for that.
