In a nutshell:

  • Please keep the posts about the outage in this topic, and all posts not about this outage outside of this topic.
  • Please post relevant questions only that have not been answered yet. It may be compelling to ask obvious questions like “when will this be fixed”, but basic information like that will be put in this message as soon as we know it.
  • Please carefully check the known symptoms and affected components.
    • If you are on the affected components, you are almost certainly affected by the outage. If so, please refrain from simply stating you are affected, it does not help get your service back up faster.
    • If you are not on the affected components but do experience all of the symptoms, please say so below so we can check if our list is incomplete.
    • If you do not experience all listed issues and are not on the components that are known to be affected, the issue you are experiencing is most likely not related to this outage. If so, please create a new topic in the Hosting Support category and describe the issue there.
  • If you say you are affected by the outage, please always include your website URL. I can’t check if you are affected by the outage if you don’t say which of your websites is affected.

A post was split to a new topic: FTP Issue

Please use desktop FTP if you need to access your files right now.

iFastNet has told a little bit more about the issue.

There was a problem with the domain registration that resulted in the domain name being changed to different nameservers. This issue has been fixed with the registrar, but unfortunately the .AI registry has not processed the nameserver change yet.

So right now we need to wait for the .AI registry to update the nameservers so the file manager will go to our servers again.

And of course, because this is out of our hands, we cannot make any promises about resolution times. We hope that this will be fixed within a few hours.

Will my existing files get damaged like they did before? Will the database be damaged?
Should I take a backup using FileZilla?

To be clear, the issue is is that the domain name filemanager.ai is currently down. The file manager server is completely up and running, but the domain isn’t routing to it right now, which is why the file manager is unreachable.

So to be clear:

  • The FTP server is working fine and completely unaffected. If you want to manage your files, you can do so using any FTP client of your choice, like FileZilla.
  • Your website storage is completely safe. So is your website and your database. There is no need to take backups right now any more than any other time. It’s just the file manager that is unreachable. The hosting infrastructure itself is completely safe.

In the mean time, we have an alternative file manager available at https://filestash.infinityfree.com. You can login with your hosting account username and password (so not your client area credentials!) to manage your files.

Yup

it is broken again

The filemanager.ai DNS seems to be fixed now and the domain is resolving to the file manager again!

However, due to DNS caching, it can still take a day or two for it to be fully working again for everyone.
