Hi,
im trying to add the domain (alltagsglück-ensdorf.de) by pointing the website to the nameservers:
ns1.infinityfree .com.
ns2.infinityfree .com
(Spaces because I can only put 2 links)
The changes are done and also visible here for example:
https://www.nslookup.io/domains/xn--alltagsglck-ensdorf-ebc.de/dns-records/#cloudflare
Yet infinityfree still shows the old nameservers.
Can someone help me?
Thanks and best regards
Welcome
I am not sure what is going on, but there are multiple servers returning different namservers for your domain:
Try verifying with CNAME record instead, and using default namservers.
I know what’s going on.
The thing is that you didn’t set the nameservers of your domain, @PregLizZz. Instead, you created DNS records at your current DNS provider that refer to our nameservers. However, that’s not how setting nameservers work. Changing nameservers is always a separate setting from DNS records. If you’re not sure how to change the nameservers of your domain with your current domain name provider, please contact your domain name provider for assistance.
That said, with .de domains, you may find that you are unable to set the nameservers. That’s because .de domains have additional restrictions that prevent changing the nameservers ahead of time. The CNAME verification was developed as an alternative for this reason.
Thanks, with the cname it worked. But now the domain still displays the old providers webpage almost 24 hours later. I setup the domain as an alias (same htdocs). Do I need to do anything else?
Yes, because adding the CNAME, unlike changing the nameservers, doesn’t make your domain resolve to our servers, it only make our server know your domain’s existence.
To make your domain actually resolve, you must also add an A record pointing to our server IP. You can find the server IP in your client area.
This is one way to do it. Another way is to change the nameservers right now. Because your domain is already set up, the registry should now accept the change.
