Basically. The software you’re trying to run is designed for PHP 4 and PHP 5. We’re running PHP 8.2. That software is wildly out of day and contains many security vulnerabilities. I wouldn’t run it anywhere. Not to mention that it probably wouldn’t even work in the first place. You should seriously consider finding a newer alternative.
Apparently, there’s at least one fork of it that runs on PHP version 8.2.5, but yeah it might be better in the long run to find a currently maintained alternative. InfinityFree is currently using PHP 8.2, and does not have a version selector as it would not be safe or feasible to maintain on free hosting
So, what are the recommended settings?
I’m afraid that this isn’t how PHP works… running on older versions does not mean it will run better on newer PHP versions, quite the contrary. PHP is not backwards compatible; every new PHP version introduces radical changes compared to the previous editions, deprecating or outright removing functionality which is considered outdated or is no longer supported for many reasons. The upgrade from PHP 7 to 8 made many sites which were designed only with PHP 7 in mind crash and need changes, you can imagine how far worse an upgrade from 5 (or even worse, 4) will be.
If Nuke Evolution says it supports PHP 8, and it is being actively supported, then you’re lucky. Otherwise, you may have to use the fork linked above by @anon54841129, or look for different software.
The key word there is “Requirements”. Since a maximum PHP version was specified (PHP5), it is required that you don’t go above that, or it probably won’t work.
Like Anyx said, PHP upgrades do a lot more then just add functionality. They are replace older outdated functions with newer ones. Just go back on this forums history and see how many peoples websites stopped working when we upgraded from PHP7 to PHP8.
Well this is all good but basically all I’m asking is for an installer for either Nuke-Evolution basic OR Nuke-platinum.? I see you have an installer for Nuke-Viet whichisan outdated version. Am I asking too much?
We are not the makers of the software; we cannot provide you with an installer. You will have to ask that to Nuke-Evolution’s developers.
I suppose you mean that this software is available in Softaculous, and there is a newer version that is not mentioned there? The software catalog in Softaculous is not managed by InfinityFree, so you would have to get in touch with Softaculous to ask them to add it (or ask Nuke-Evolution’s developers to make that feature request to Softaculous).
