Error Message

domain server in red

Other Information

Hello, first of all, I must specify that I am not fluent in English; my language is Spanish.

I cannot activate my external domain, Two domains appear in my account, one is the hosting domain and the other is mine. My external domain should override the hosting domain, but it doesn’t.

In the external domain section, the domain servers appear in red. This is a sign that they are not working. I asked the external domain administrators and they told me that the DNS are correctly added and that it should work. The IP address is also red even though it is recognised.

I see that there is a section here for configuring DNS, but I assume that is for imported items., I don’t have to change anything there because my domain is external.

I don’t know how I can solve it.

I’m happy to check for you if your domain name is setup correctly, but then I do need to know what to check. Could you please share the domain name you’re trying to setup?

It doesn’t need to be ready for visitors yet, that’s what we’re here to help with. But I need more information than “it shows as red but it should not be red” to help you.

Hello, thank you very much for your assistance. The domain name is nuevapazmundial.org

On the Directory Status all is green, Directory Exists is green, and Index file is green, but on the DNS Status all is red, Nameservers is red, an IP Address is red. There say this: Your domain is using third-party nameservers

Please make sure you can configure the nameservers below yourself correctly, or change your domain to InfinityFree nameservers.

I think it’s red because there’s a problem. If everything were correct, it would be green. But maybe if I publish it, it will work correctly. I don’t know.

The SSL Status is also in red but this is logic becouse I haven’t taken it, I don’t know how to do it.

The domain service has informed me that everything is correct on their end.

I have checked your domain name manually with a DNS lookup and it appears to be pointing to the nameservers from Njalla right now. In other words, the information you see in the client area is correct.

To fix this, please update the nameservers of your domain name at your domain name provider:

If the panel of your domain name provider says your domain is already pointing to our nameservers, then please contact your domain name provider. If the settings in their panel are not taking effect on your domain name, then only they can help you.

Thank you very much for responding.

In Njalla I have set up one CNAME with the 32 letter key from Infinityfree and .nuevapazmundial.org and ns1.byet.org This is what Njalla recommended to me. I’ve had it for about two weeks, but I didn’t dare write here to ask because I don’t know English.

Now I see this: How to point your domain to InfinityFree from other nameservers and I think I should enter in Njalla a type A record with the infinityfree IP. But I don’t know what the IP is because I can’t find it.

What I need to know is what data I should enter on the domain server, and what data I should enter on the hosting server.

After entering the 32-digit key, I entered two CNAMEs, one is ns1.infinityfree.com`` and other one is ns2.infinityfree.combut there were no changes.

I appreciate the help.

That’s the issue, you cannot use your domain with us if you don’t have an A record.

You can find your IP address in your client area.

You can delete those. No one told you to do it, and it’s of no use.

Perfect, I’ll give it a try.

I added those CNAME only because they were recommended in parentheses, but it’s obvious that it wasn’t necessary.

I have another question. In the account section, I have both domains. I created the website that comes by default, I don’t know how to merge it. But that’s not a problem because I can build it on the new domain. Do you recommend build website from the new domain?

Thank you very much.

Both your free subdomain and your custom domain are individual websites. If you want to setup a website on your own domain, then you should setup your website on your own domain, and not on the subdomain.

If you don’t want to use the free subdomain, you can also just remove it from your account. Removing one domain has no consequences to any other domains.

Thank you.

The IP is already working in the DNS Status section, but the nameservers are still in red color.

What can I do to fix this?

The nameservers show as red if you’re not using our nameservers. If that’s what you want, then everything is OK.
