I can't access wp-admin

Website URL

/freesolo/wp-admin
https://
/freesolo/wp-login.php

Error Message

Too many HTTP redirects

Other Information

I am unable to access my WP-ADMIN control panel. I have tried several solutions suggested online, but none of them have worked. The login page simply won’t load. The site’s files are installed in the /freesolo/ directory but they are served from the root of the domain. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, and welcome to the InfinityFree forum!

What did you do after installing an SSL on your website?

I’ve actually had the site set up for about a year, but I haven’t updated it recently. I haven’t been able to access it for a few months.

I have WordPress installed and used to be able to log into the control panel without issue.

In case it wasn’t obvious, I didn’t do anything after installing SSL because I haven’t been able to ‘do’ anything on the site in months.

This gets weirder and weirder. The MySQL database that my Wordpress was installed on is not showing up in my hosting account. Yet my website is still serving the correct content. I just can’t log into the control panel. See attached.

Even more bizarre: I never deleted the database.

Will this help?

Do not mention @Admin as he had his pings turned off a long time ago.

If you look at the results from the network tab in the browser developer’s tool, then you can see that:

It looks like a redirection loop is happening between non-www and www versions of the webpage. It looks like Wordpress or one of its plugin has been configured to do such redirection, as evident by the existence of x-redirected-by: Wordpress header.

I highly suggest that you should disable all plugins in your Wordpress installation manually.

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, though, I tried disabling all of my plugins manually via FTP earlier. It made no difference.

Thanks, that solved one of my problems. I can see the MySQL database again. But unfortunately I still get the too many redirects loop.

Do you have a redirect in your .htaccess?
If so, disable it.
Having .htaccess and CloudFlare redirect at the same time is a real source of trouble.
You may want to purge the CloudFlare cache as well.
Do that also for your browser cache

Have you tried this?

  1. I disabled the htaccess file. Made no difference.
  2. I disconnected CloudFlare and pointed my nameservers directly to InfinityFree.
  3. I removed the “https” in siteurl and home under phpMyAdmin and replaced it with “http”.
  4. I cleared my browser cache.

Still getting too many redirects error.

No issue

Got it, thanks. Appreciate the suggestions. I just had to wait for the DNS changes to fully propagate.
