Infy.uk and 000.pe was formerly available as an option for free subdomains in the client area, but now it isn’t anymore since prior issues with registries for these two domains take down the domain entirely after an abuse report.
But the existing subdomains under infy.uk (and 000.pe) are still active because people keep using them, even after admin advising those people to move to other available subdomains. So in theory, you can find infy.uk still there as an option in Control Panel > Subdomains
Hello, and Welcome to the InfinityFree Forum @Janu004!
Yes, infy.uk is associated with InfinityFree.
While it is still possible to register for the subdomain as mentioned in the spoiler that @TiffanyLynch should have not inserted in the first place, please don’t do this. Instead, you can use a different domain, we have many options!
If you pitch the idea of your site, we could suggest a subdomain that could suit your site well, if you need.
Admin have pings disabled so it won’t make a difference.
The infy.uk extension is diabled intentionally. And disabled by exactly Admin himself. By no means at all you will get any guidance on this, if he doesn’t suspend your account for this…
I have noticed that nearly 100 .infy.uk subdomains were registered within a very short period, specifically around 28 December. This suggests that there may be a defined process or permission through which these subdomains were created.
Creating subdomains under the infy.uk domain is not supposed to be possible.
We had trouble in the past with policies from the .uk registry which pushed us to not allow new subdomains under the domain, for two reasons:
There is a fairly high chance that the domain will get taken down again, causing potentially extensive downtime to all websites under the domain. Existing infy.uk domain owners can decide what to do with that (keep using the domain and accept the risk, or switch to a different domain), but we do not want to expose new users to this.
New websites being created results in more harmful websites on infy.uk domains too, which increases the likelihood that the domain will get taken down again.
Not allowing new registrations under infy.uk is simply the best way to ensure that everyone’s website keeps working and won’t experience downtime again due to registry issues.
Exploits do exist that make it possible to still register such subdomains. But that’s very different from there being a process or permission to do so. We do not support it and definitely do not encourage it.
Thank you for your guidance and continued support.
I would like to respectfully submit a request. If possible, as the owner, I kindly ask whether you could create some space for me to register subdomains under infy.uk. I am interested in setting up approximately 50 subdomains/sites for legitimate projects.
I would be extremely grateful for your consideration and support. I sincerely look forward to a positive response.
Asking the same question again will not give you a different answer. Whether for a legitimate purpose or not, creating new subdomains under the infy.uk domain legitimately is no longer possible for anyone, as Admin has stated
Reselling functionality of InfinityFree’s service is forbidden in the TOS.
Admin has basically already said no.
While less common than they used to be, services specifically for acquiring free subdomains do exist. Of course if you expect your backlink venture to be profitable, I suspect it would be better to purchase your own domain anyways. There are a lot of TLDs that are less than $10 a year from some registrars.
As I have already stated clearly: creating new subdomains under the infy.uk is not approved or supported. No exceptions will be made.
It was a necessary measure to ensure the continued availability of both existing websites using infy.uk domains, and any new websites that people create. We’d like to be able to offer subdomains under infy.uk too, but as long as we cannot be certain that Nominet won’t come after us again, creating new subdomains is just too dangerous.
Using our hosting to setup bulk SEO spam sites is not permitted on our hosting. Not just under the infy.uk domain, but under any domain name, even your own.
You’re not even asking me to give you subdomains because you want it for your website, you are asking it for the explicit purpose of abusing them.
If you’re using it for commercial purposes, you can also just buy your own .uk domain instead of abusing someone else’s. .uk domains retail for as low as $5-6 per year.
DNSHE allows free registration of .de5.net, cc.cd, and us.ci domain extensions. You can try registering one and then change the NS server to host it on InfinityFree.
I want to make it clear that I am not a leader of DNSHE. I do not hold any position in DNSHE, so this is not an advertisement or spam.
