Other Information

i purchased the domain with domain.com and immediately edited the MX records. i am using the email accounts related. next, i want to add my domain to my infinityfree account and I am learning that it requires to change servernames. how will the email service behave if I edit the name servers?

It will stop working unless you also setup the MX records in the control panel here.

If you don’t want to change your namservers, just do this instead:

i followed through the instructions to setup the CNAME record in my domain provider. i understood that is all what is needed. but in this page (How to add your domain with CNAME verification), step 5 is confusing. do i need to follow up with step 5 or just wait for the propagation of the updated CNAME?

also, after i purchased the domain, i setup mx records to configure a mailing service. i have a great deal of structure done with domain emails. i hope that CNAME is all i need to do at my domain end for my website at infinityfree to appear, besides any other step inside the infinite console that is due. please confirm. thanks

My CNAME is working properly according to google admin toolbox DIG. does it mean my domain will show the website i am preparing when i PUBLISH?

Yes, you do need to take action for step 5. Step 1-4 are about verifying your domain name so you can add it to your hosting account. It doesn’t affect the behavior of your domain name at all.

If you actually want to use your account to host your website, you’ll need to take additional steps to point your domain name to your hosting account so that actual website traffic will go here.

what will happen to all the MX and anything email service configurations? do you offer same input tags? or am i supposed to follow the cloudflare instructions? thanks

It’s your call.

You have two options:

  • You can keep using your current nameservers, and simply update the necessary records to direct website traffic to your account with us. Assuming you configure it correctly, this will have zero impact to your email. We don’t have a guide about this specifically, but setting up Cloudflare involves the same step, so that’s the best guide we have right now on the subject.
  • You can switch to our nameservers, and configure your email there. We don’t provide full DNS management, but we do provide the ability to set your own MX records and SPF records. As for whether that’s enough for your email service, I don’t know, because I know nothing about your domain, your email service or the DNS settings of your domain.

in the meantime i upgraded to starter plan and i changed the server names. i expect to find CNAMEs record for mail , MX records, SPF, DMARC and DKIM. please confirm that i will find all the options to manage email records 4 out of 4 and not 2 out of 4 options in the starter cpanel plan. thanks.

All premium hosting accounts have full DNS management, which allows you to configure basically any DNS record on your domain you want. This includes full TXT record support, allowing you to configure your own SPF, DKIM and DMARC records.
