Domain 000.pe Suspended by Registry

For future reference I would personally suggest getting your own custom domain if it remaining accessible is critical. This situation is unfortunately a risk with any free subdomain on any hosting platform, especially free hosting since abuse rates of the service are higher. Having your own domain where you control the DNS would mean you wouldn’t be vulnerable to this situation.

IDK if it’s just my Mac, but Namecheap is showing 000.pe for sale.

Hopefully the issue’s resolved before someone else buys it!

The domain is still registered, and is in my Namecheap account. So I think that that’s just an anomaly in the Namecheap panel, and I suspect you’ll get an error if you try to register it.

Strange, something seems wrong with the .pe registry

This is odd. I can confirm that Namecheap claims the domain is available, but other registrars say it’s already taken.

Also doing a whois lookup still says it has the serverHold status, so it’s still being held at the registry’s end.

That would explain a few things, though it seems to be working fine on my end.

I want to know if I move my wordpress file under the 000.pe domain directly to my own hutao0715.icu domain, will there be a problem? Like compatibility?

Using the Translator

As long as you make sure to move the entire installation and its database, you’ll be fine. Just remember to change the URL for your WordPress site after the move.

oh,shit! This tutorial is too tedious! I’m afraid I don’t have enough time and patience to adjust!

Oh man what a bummer. How can they just take down a whole doman without warning or anything!
And it’s been taking so long to fix and they are still unclear on this. Like what is happening…
Jeez. Phew, I’ve complaint and now feel better.

That is a very annoying situation! Taking down domains without warning affects 100’s of InfinityFree customers. InfinityFree is in the process of getting the domain online, but they are waiting for Namecheap and the Registry to resolve this issue.

The InfinityFree staff will inform everyone when the domain is restored and online.

I mean 2 weeks without the domain is unbelievable…

Again, nobody here can do anything about this, not even Admin. The registrar took the domain down, the registrar is the only one who can bring it back up.

I agree, that is a long time for the domain to be down, but complaining about it here won’t do anything.

Yeah I know, Not complaining about infinityfree but the registry…

Yes, same here. I really need access to my emails. I run my business through them.

I had a Wordpress website on 000.pe. Now I would like to move it to a new domain in the samer Infinityfree hosting. Shall I install Wordpress in the new account before I copy files from my backup? Or how to do it right?

Easiest thing to do is just add the new domain as a parked domain, then change the WordPress Site URL in the database.

I’m really disapointed… I know infinityfree is a free service so I can’t complain like I would for an otherwise paid service and make any demands - and I am grateful for everything - but this has been going on for 2 weeks and I’m beginning to think the issue will keep on coming up, or 000.pe will never come back.
My site is made of HTMLs so I can easily move them to a new domain. Can I register a new domain and just shift my files to a different ftp adress so the site could work again at a different domain? I’ve seen some of you lot mentioning a tutorial about that, but I can’t seem to find it.

Unfortunately there is nothing InfinityFree can do about this, it’s a potential problem that can occur on any subdomain, no matter who the provider is.

Connecting a custom domain is the best way to prevent this from happening in the future, but you can use a different free subdomain if you wish.

My recommendation is to add the custom domain as a parked domain, it will then share the same files, no migration necessary (Unless you run software like WP, then you’ll need to change the site URL).

If you want to add a subdomain, follow this guide to take a copy of your files, then follow it in reverse to upload them to the new domain.

My domains are now being deactivated due to lack of visitors and seems to throw an error every time I try to reactivate :pensive:

Edit: it has now gone through, but still this whole situation is just a bit silly and incredibly annoying

I understand your issue. Because 000.pe is still having issues, site inactivity caused by this is closing accounts. InfinityFree staff are working to stop this issue while also waiting for 000.pe to come online again.
