in my browser when I go to jota.uniq.com.au I get redirected to the Domain suspended page, I waited a week to make sure the DNS had propagated. nslookup shows the CNAME and A records and I get green ticks in the dashboard.

Other Information

My DNS is hosted elsewhere. I have other sites, such as www.uniq.com.au that are hosted elsewhere too, so I can’t move them to Infinity Free hosting.

I have added uniq.com.au as a custom domain, I added the CNAME record to prove I control the domain and the A record for jota.uniq.com.au pointing to 185.27.134.166 and that part looks ok.

Now if I go to https://jota.uniq.com.au in my browser I get the “Domain Suspended” page.

I tried creating an SSL certificate, using the instructions on the forum for jota.uniq.com.au. It says I need to manually install it. When I go to the control panel SSL/TLS page to install it there is only the domain uniq.com.au and it rejects the certificate because it says the cert is for jota.uniq.com.au and it is trying to install it for the uniq.com.au domain.

I feel like I am really close here, but seem to be missing a step or not fully understanding how Infinity Free works with custom domains. The assigned subdomain works fine, it’s just getting the custom domain to work that I’m having trouble with.

ok, so right now jota.uniq.com.au is not a separate subdomain in DNS, it’s just a host record. Do I need to create a sub-domain in my DNS for jota.uniq.com.au and then add that to my InfinityFree account?

Domain and subdomain need to be added to hosting account first.
If not, whatever you did will be useless!!!

thank you, that’s working now. Just waiting for the SSL cert to become active, but I see the contents of jota.uniq.com.au/index2.html now. I was confusing domains, subdomains and hostnames.
