Custom DNS for subdomain

Greetings. I created a website on hosting, linked a domain to it, and after that, created a subdomain in the zone of my main domain using infinityfree tools.
Example:

site on example.com domain, subdomain play.example.com.

Next, I connected Cloudflare DNS, and in it I specified other NS for my subdomain.
Example with Cloudflare DNS:

example.com connects to the IP address of the site from hosting, and 2 other NS servers are prescribed for the subdomain.

Will this work?

If you are talking about the NS DNS record, your doing it wrong. The DNS record is different from the nameserver record.

The NS solution probably works, but it’s an exotic setup, so I’m not sure. Just setting the necessary A records in Cloudflare is safer.
