An index.php file from another website was found

Hi there,

I’m totally new to InfinityFree so apologies in advance if my question seems a bit basic and my knowledge of the forum a bit clumsy.

I reactivated my InfinityFree account after a couple of weeks of inactivity (I was on holiday) and when I try to log into the Website builder function, I get the message below displayed. What does this mean? Do I have to upgrade my account to SitePro? If I do upgrade, will my (very basic!) website structure remain or will have to start the site again from scratch?

Site.Pro will OVERWRITE your current website. If you want to go back afterward, you will need to fix your site yourself.

I understand that my existing site will be overwritten

Login to SitePro

Other Information

(other information and details relevant to your question)

Site builder pro is the website builder so if you see this you must have clicked on the site builder button/link at some point

But don’t panic its ok as site builder renames your original index and you’ll find it in /htdocs

Greenreader added a great article explain the steps needed to restore your website, please click the link below

It depends. What do you WANT to do?

If you want to build your website with the Site.Pro builder, then you should continue. If you are building your website without Site.Pro and don’t plan to use Site.Pro, then don’t continue, because it will overwrite your website.

You don’t need to do anything. You don’t need to use Site.Pro, you don’t need to buy an upgrade and you don’t need to rebuild your website. It’s all your choice.

Thanks for the response, but I still have an issue with this -

When I login to my InfinityFree account and try to access the Website Builder, the page automatically brings up the Site Pro prompt, asking me to overwrite the site using Site Pro, which I don’t want to do.

How do I access the original site builder tool in InfinityFree and NOT keep getting the Site Pro overwrite prompt?

Thanks

Giles.

Site.Pro is the site builder IF offers. You are seeing the message because you don’t have a current site builder account, and you have content on your website already.

If you want to use the site builder, bypass the message and build your website with the site builder

If you want to continue building your site the way you currently have it, don’t open eh site builder page at all

Thanks for the response, but how do I ‘bypass’ the Site Pro prompt?

Just click the “I understand” or “continue anyways” or “overwrite” or whatever the button says

We provide a website builder, but there are many ways to build a website on our hosting.

You currently have a website setup with WordPress, not Site.Pro. If you go into the Site.Pro website builder, you will break the WordPress site and WordPress features. That’s why there is a warning page before entering Site.Pro: you can do it, but there are consequences.

To continue managing your website with WordPress, you can use the built-in admin interface of WordPress, found here: http://gilesh.infinityfreeapp.com/wp-admin/ You can login with the admin credentials you chose when installing your website. If you installed the website with Softaculous, you can also use that to access the admin interface of your website.
