Accidentally setup the Site.Pro sitebuilder on your domain? Don’t worry, it’s easy to remove the sitebuilder and restore your old website.
Common Use Case: Most commonly, users (like you!) will install WordPress, then decide to see what the sitebuilder has to offer. Deciding that WordPress is better for them, confusion occurs as deleting the sitebuilder account does not restore the WordPress installation!
Before Getting Started
Before continuing, let’s make sure that this guide will work for you. The following MUST be true to continue!
I think this step needs to be changed again.
User would goto their InfinityFree account, then select → Manage next to the domain, then select the orange File Manager button.
Hello,
I tried to follow your instructions but the site is not accesible (step before getting started).
Our site has a freesite.online extension and we saw that it was suspended, do you think that we can access our site again if we wait ?
Another problem is that we overwrote our site with a site.pro to try and follow this tutorial. Is there any backup of our older website by any chance ?
That’s the idea, yes. If you would like to discuss the status of freesite.online domain being down, please ask your question in the dedicated topic.
That’s what the spb_index.php is about. The only thing Site.Pro does is move your existing index.php file out of the way and add their own files. All your other website files will not be touched and your website should just work when you move the index.php file back in place.
Did your website have an index.php file to begin with?
If there is no original index.php, then the index.php file will not be renamed to spb_index.php.
If you had an index.html file instead, it will still be there. Same with a home.php or a file with another name. And if there was no website to begin with, then of course you cannot restore the previous website.
