Yandex is blocked on free hosting because of the insane amount of requests they make to free hosting sites.

This forum is terribly slow. That’s why few people can post questions. Yandex robot does not put any load on your processor. Please unlock Yandex robot to the bottom domain https://web-forum.page.gd/

All crawlers put load on the websites they are crawling. Crawlers need to access pages and producing those pages generates system load. How much load they cause varies, but claiming that a crawler does not cause ANY load is just not true.

Yandex crawls more aggressively than other search engine crawlers, while simultaneously having only a very small market share globally and being responsible for very little legitimate traffic.

That’s why we chose to block the Yandex crawler. We can only give so much server capacity for free, and we prefer to make sure that this capacity is available for the things that matter most. And populating the indexes of a search engine few people use is not that.

Not in my experience. It’s not super zippy, but that’s inherently because Discourse is not lightweight software. It’s fast enough, and definitely not a blocker to post questions.

Also, insulting people’s work and at the same time asking them favors usually doesn’t go very well in my experience.

Assuming you mean the load time on the forum, that will vary a lot depending on your internet and where you are in the world.

If you mean in terms of getting a response, that’s because its a community forum. Everyone here (with the exception of admin himself) is a user\customer of InfinityFree. We come and talk and help each other out of the goodness of our hearts. We are not paid to provide support on the forums.

Admin, is the owner of InfinityFree, and while he is probably one of the most helpful people I’ve ever met online, he is one person, he can’t be online 24/7 to provide support.

seems like you tried every attempt to bring your site to yandex…

Я никого не оскорблял, но всё-же извините. Не понимаю почему исчерпаны лимиты на просмотр сайта https://web-forum.page.gd/ Видимо лимиты очень мизерные, это разочаровывает.

I didn’t offend anyone, but I’m sorry anyway. I don’t understand why the limits for viewing the website https://web-forum.page.gd/ have been reached. It seems that the limits are very limited, which is disappointing.

All part of the t&C’s you agreed to when signing up.

Free hosting isn’t free. There are limits in place to protect both admin, and users, from the system being overloaded

I see your account has reached the hits limit. Or rather, blasted through the hits limit and used tens of times the limit.

A limit of 50,000 hits per day is plenty for a regular website with light traffic, which is what our hosting is intended for. If you hit it, it usually means your website is too heavy or it gets too much traffic. However, going over the limit by so much usually suggests that your website may have been the target of an attack.

And before you ask “why am I being punished when I was the target of an attack”: we’re not punishing you, we’re simply doing what’s necessary to provide a free and stable service to as many people as possible. And that sometimes requires blocking things that are responsible for high server load and harming the experience of everyone else.

We’re not punishing you, the fact is simply that your website was responsible for a disproportionate amount of server load, and we have to take action to protect the website of everyone else.
