Wordpress: There was an error. You are probably offline

I have to break my question into two or more posts, because as a new user to this forum, I am only allowed to post 2 links in each post.

Error Message: There was an error. You are probably offline.

Hi all.
I learning to use WordPress, most of which seems to be working fine so far. I get the above error when I try to add widgets. More specifically, I add the widgets, and get the above errors when I click “Update”.

I see “There was an error. You are probably offline.” in WordPress, and the detailed error message in the Chrome Devtools console log.

Can anyone please help? Thanks in advance.

I am hoping this screenshot works.

What happened is WP threw a 403 error, and then due to security systems in place the 403 page was prevented from showing itself to you.
