Wordpress makes 3-5% progress then goes back to 0

Error Message: After select Wordpress template and click install I get 3-5% progress then it goes back to 0 and makes no progress and it says to wait 3-4 minutes…

Hi, welcome to the forum.

It sounds like a corrupted install of some sort. I would try doing these things:

1. Try uninstalling from Softaculous.
2. Go to Control Panel > Databases and remove any db’s that were created for WordPress.
3. Go to File Manager and check inside your htdocs folder. Make sure there are no files from the previous installation there.
4. Select the default theme for installation (you can change it via admin area after install)
5. Try to install again.

1. While there is a Softaculous folder, the main folder has a 202B site-as.php and 696B user.php file. The sub folders are empty except for the 2k Softaculous.log and the 0B error.log. Should I just delete the whole Softaculous folder?
2. The Database sectioning the control panel looks like this. I don’t see anything to delete.

I followed @chiucs123 instructions below and was able to get things up and running. I’d just add that it’s helpful to leave the database creation page open while you set up the Wordpress because you will need all the info on the page to get Wordpress running.

Wordpress installation stuck at 4%

Hi Victorg, Personally, I would go with installing manually, it’s actually quite simple. Click this link: https://wordpress.org/latest.zip Find somewhere on your computer to create an empty folder. Drag that zip inside and extract it Log in to your InfinityFree client area and use the file manager to place all those files into htdocs folder. Go back to the client area and click on MySQL databases, you can find the database info there. Or create one if you haven’t already. Keep the client area…
