I was doing ModX development yesterday, today when I visit main modx page it says page not found and I can’t login into manager page even with login as admin from softaculous. Will the pages and modx be restored or do I need to make it from scratch again?
I split your post off from the outage topic because I have no idea if it’s related to either of them.
I’m happy to try to help you, but I have never used MODX. I also don’t really understand what problem you’re having.
Could you please start by clarifying:
- What is the URL to your website?
- What “page not found” error do you see when you visit your website? Is it out 404 error page or a page of your website software?
- What error do you see when you try to login?
Whether your website “will” be restored depends on your ability to fix your website. We can help you, but not do it for you. Please understand that we just provide the hosting, you are responsible for managing the website on it.
Thank you for giving my issue your attention!
It’s not 404, it says “Page not found The page you requested was not found.”
The URLs are: https://modx-task.42web.io/modx/ https://modx-task.42web.io/modx/manager
Login error:
I tried changing it to english as well, but it didn’t change after few retries. Translation of the error: Incorrect username or password. Check the entered data and try again.
The issue was not present yesterday, I saved all my work, checked its functionality and went to sleep, when I wake up it’s all like this. I assumed at first that it’s because of database issues, but the site does not have any MySQL databases. But according to softacus it hosts modx content on another hosts database
Could it be that the database host have lost the data? And any way to know if it’s going to be restored?
Your account is affected by this issue. So it’s very much possible that your website doesn’t work because of that.
As far as I can tell, this error is generated by MODX itself. As for why MODX would show a “page not found” error when it cannot connect to the database, I don’t know, but software can lie of course.
