Google search console: couldn’t fetch sitemap
Google Search Console is reporting that it couldn’t fetch my sitemap, even though the sitemap exists and is accessible.
What could be preventing Google’s crawler from accessing it? Could it be Cloudflare, the infinityfree, the “robots.txt” file, or something else?
Google complains about that every now and then and it seems to have something to do with the security system although there’re also lots of reports saying that sitemaps do work on Google because they should.
That is to say, for the exact same system using an online sitemap generator will not work here. If you look at your so called “sitemap” you’ll see that there’s only 1 link which I’m not sure what are you planning to do with it.
I have updated my sitemap. What should I do to prevent Google Search Console from showing the “Couldn’t fetch sitemap” error again? Is there anything I need to change on my website, hosting, Cloudflare, or robots.txt?
Problem has been resolved now, search console has accepted the sitemap, i dont why earlier it was refusing. But it is now showing Googlebot was blocked by robots.txt in fetching some pages/resources
It seems that your robots.txt is managed by Cloudflare. If you believe that something is wrong with it you need to deal it with Cloudflare. And if you believe that Google went wrong fetching the content of robots.txt you need to figure this out with Google.
But in either way, this is not the correct place to ask.
