“Error: Disk Space Limit Reached. Your site cannot save additional files as it has exceeded the allocated storage limit. Please free up space or upgrade your hosting plan.”
Other Information
The website is currently hosted on DigitalOcean, but I’m facing issues with disk space due to large image uploads and backups taking up too much storage. This has started affecting the functionality of the site and preventing further updates.
Because of this, I’m considering switching to InfinityFree for hosting, as it advertises unlimited disk space. Would this be a good option for my website, or are there better alternatives to manage storage-related issues? I’d appreciate any advice!
I’m not sure where you got that idea from, because it’s not true. We provide 5 GB of disk space. It used to be advertised as unlimited, but that has not been the case for years. Unfortunately, many third party websites still have the old, incorrect information. But then their information is incorrect, because our disk space is not unlimited.
Which DigitalOcean service do you use to host your site? They provide many different services, none of which are web hosting services like we offer.
Also, please consider that free hosting is in many cases worse than paid hosting. I see your website is built with WordPress and Elementor. But Elementor is a very heavy plugin and doesn’t work that well on our hosting.
Finally, the answer depends on how much space you currently get, and what you use it for. If you expect it to increase a lot, offloading it to object storage like DigitalOcean Spaces might be a cost effective solution. But maybe DigitalOcean is just stingy with storage on your current plan, and another service is more suitable.
EDIT: Just a thought, are you perhaps referring to the premium services? Because those are provided by our partner iFastNet, not by us. For a WordPress site, a hosting account can be quite cost effective, and iFastNet is very reasonably priced. So that might be a good option, especially because they do provide ample disk space.
