Dear InfinityFree,

I’ve just signed up with a free account, and successfully built a WordPress site, using Softaculous. It works, I see it, it’s great. https://sushrutaproject.gt.tc DNS of wordpress installation is 185.27.134.103

I own the DNS name sushrutaproject dot org and I have set the DNS record to redirect to the above IP. I’ve set the name to https://new.sushrutaproject.org . DNS Type Host and Content are:

A new 185.27.134.103

But when I test the “new” address the connection fails with:

Did Not Connect: Potential Security Issue

Firefox detected a potential security threat and did not continue to new.sushrutaproject.org because this website requires a secure connection.

You say “Custom SSL certificates are no longer supported for free subdomains. All free subdomains have SSL by default.“ That should mean things are secure and in order. But something is wrong.

I’ve read the other posts in this forum but I don’t see exactly this issue. I’ve clear my caches, blown my nose, waited a day, tried some other ideas, etc. etc., but I can’t solve it.

Can you help?

Don’t hijack other people’s topics. The new.xxx domain is not a free subdomain, you need to request a certificate for it.

I looked everywhere in this forum for a way to start a new topic, and I couldn’t find how to do it. Sorry, I didn’t think I was hijacking, I thought it was a continuation of a similar topic.

The website I’ve set up on Infinity free is a free one and I cannot buy a certificate. When I try to do that, I get a message that free domains already have an SSL and the purchase procedure is disabled. I thought I mentioned that in my post.

I am still unable to get the redirect from the DNS name that I own to successfully bring up my Infinityfee site.

There should be a pencil icon (sometimes labeled with new topic sometimes not) on the homepage of the forum. In any case, glad I could help you out!
