My website hosted under the domain: https://damtiair.com
is currently down and displaying the error: “502 Bad Gateway”
I attempted to manage some files via the File Manager (including moving WordPress files between folders), but it’s possible that some files were not transferred correctly or that the root directory settings were misconfigured.
Could you please:
Check if the necessary WordPress files exist and are correctly placed in the htdocs folder
Verify that the server services (PHP / MySQL / Apache) are running properly
Let me know if a backup restore is possible to return the site to a working state
I would appreciate your assistance in restoring the website as soon as possible.
I checked your website, and when I try to access it, it takes a very long time to load, before responding with a 502 Bad Gateway error. This sounds like PHP code that’s just taking too long to run, and the server just gives up waiting for a response.
This doesn’t immediately strike me as an issue that could be caused by files being missing or in the wrong place. If critical files are not in the right location, most code tends to just crash.
The good news is that the WordPress admin area at https://damtiair.com/wp-admin/ appears to load at least. Are you able to login there and manage your website?
If so, I suggest first disabling all plugins and switching to a default theme. If that resolved the 502 Bad Gateway error, you can turn your plugins and theme back on again, one by one, and see which one of them causes the issue to reappear. That should help you figure out where the issue might be coming from.
I followed your recommendation and discovered that when using the Astra theme, the website crashes and shows a 502 error. However, when switching to WordPress’s default theme, everything works fine.
The problem is that I’ve already built and edited the entire site using Astra.
What can I do to continue editing and displaying the website with the Astra theme?
Just to confirm, are you using Astra with Elementor? Is Elementor requires to use Astra?
Please be aware that Elementor is a VERY heavy plugin, that’s known to cause problems with free hosting due to it being such an overcomplicated beast. It’s just too big for free hosting.
Especially if you also throw in WooCommerce, which is also a big and complicated plugin, you get a very heavyweight website.
All in all, I’m afraid there are only two options going forward:
Switch to a more lightweight website builder or editor, which means you can’t use Elementor or Astra.
Upgrade to premium hosting hosting, which is more powerful so you should not have these issues.
