I checked the web page, and I think I see the issue.
When I check the actual video being downloaded in my browser, I see roughly 10 MB of data being downloaded. And when I check the response preview, my browser says “Response has been truncated”.
I suspect that your video file was corrupted during publishing. This is because we have a 10 MB file size limit on our hosting, and your video file was likely capped at that limit, resulting in an unplayable file.
Please try optimizing the video file to reduce the file size to fall within that 10 MB limit. Things like compression, reducing the resolution or maybe even the duration can help reduce the file size. That will not only allow for the video file to be published correctly, it will also improve your website speed due to browsers not having to download as much video data to get see the video banner.
Thanks for the reply!
I have tried a multitude of smaller (under 5mb) video files in the same way, each works great in the site.pro builder and preview, but not in real-life on any browser (chrome, edge, firefox), same goes for the favicon, which again, works great and is visible in the site.pro UI and preview, but not in any browser when viewing the website. It’s almost like the site builder is a sandbox, which many features only functioning within it’s own UI. Anyway, I tried using the same videos in a wordpress demo and it launches fine in any browser and plays all videos seamlessly, so perhaps the site.pro toolset is antiquated and more work than it’s worth.
This sounds like a cache issue. The site builder is not a sandbox.
I only checked the video that’s supposed to be in the main page hero section. That file is over 10 MB on the hosting account, which is why it has been corrupted.
If you’re having issues with smaller video files too, that suggests something else is going on. Would you mind adding such a smaller video to a page and publishing that so we can check why it’s not working?
