Using WordPress to Build Website

Hello, all!

So, I already did the Softculous app for WordPress in the control panel, selected my theme, and hit submit–no hitches therein.

When I go to build a website though, the only option which shows up is Site.pro (which is garbage) when I click on the button to build my website. When I click on my domain name, though, it directs me to the theme page I selected for WordPress…on which I cannot make any changes.

Clearly, I am doing something wrong. Can anyone please tell me how I can build using WordPress within InfinityFree? I am not a technical person, and I am stumped (and facing a hard-pressing deadline to get this hashed out).

Much thanks in advance for your kind assistance!

  1. Wrong category. Use Hosting Support the next time.
  2. If you installed WordPress, then you use WordPress. That “Website Builder” button is clearly not WordPress if that’s what you’re thinking. That just means Site.Pro and nothing else.
  3. When you click on your domain, it shows you your website and you cannot make any changes. Which is good, as you wouldn’t want whatever random people who visits your site be able to modify your website. To modify your website, you must be logged in to your website as the Admin.

To login as Admin:

  1. Press “Softaculous Installer”
  2. Go to WordPress Manager
  3. Select your site and click “Login”

Hello, Frank419, and thank you.

I cannot access the Softaculous Installer all of a sudden, because I keep getting directed to log in on the Vista Panel, and it will not accept the login—it just turns the entry boxes blank, no matter how many times I try. And I did what others did in other questions on this forum, and reset the password using the system reset option to log in to the general site, still no luck. I cannot access the cpanel at all, because I am unable to log in to the Vista Panel (I was earlier), so if you have any ideas how to remedy that snafu, I’d very much appreciate it!

Can you please screenshot what page is Softaculous redirecting you to?

If you want to build your website with WordPress, do NOT use any of the “website builder” or “build website” buttons in the client area. Those lead to the Site.Pro website builder. If you use something else to manage your website, you’ll usually have some other way to access your website’s administration area.

With WordPress, that usually means navigating to http:// <your domain name> /wp-admin/, and logging in with the admin username and password you entered when installing WordPress. But if you installed it with Softaculous, you can login with Softaculous too.

I’m not sure what “system password reset” you have used. But if you used the control panel password reset, that 1) won’t help you access your website and 2) will break a lot of integrations in our client area because now the password is out of sync. If you used that password reset, please find your hosting account in the client area, go to Account Settings and change the hosting account password there.

And please note that you cannot login to Softaculous directly, you MUST go through the control panel or client area first. If you get a cPanel login page at Softaculous, then please close the page and go back to the control panel and click the Softaculous button there, because you cannot login directly to Softaculous.

Hi, Frank419.

This is the screenshot of where I get sent when I try to log in to my cpanel.

That’s the control panel login screen, so that makes sense.

If you click the Control Panel button from the client area, you should be logged in automatically. If you navigate directly to the control panel, you can also login there, using your hosting account username and password, which you can find in the client area (which are not the same as your client area login details!).
