The file manager can be a bit finicky, especially with more complicated tasks like uploading many files. What exactly are you trying to do with it?
Googling that error code tells me you’re using SmartFTP, and SmartFTP says there is an issue with your credentials.

There are limits on how big the files can be you are attempting to upload, double-check if the size is great, but as admin said, there seems to be an issue with your credentials, so check again if the correct ftp details were entered, or check the article admin provided

Thanks for inputs, I found the answer. My computer was buggy, misrepresenting the file sizes for some of the images.
