Download failed.: Bad Gateway
Installation failed.
I am trying to update the WordPress to 6.8.2 but I am not able to update and gets the above message for everything ‘Bad Gateway’, either for wordpress or any plugin I try to update.
Bad Gateway is an error that typically means the server had an issue. So I would guess that WordPress currently has an issue with their download server?
They also just posted a notice on their status page: https://status.wordpress.org/
So I think that this is an issue at WordPress. And all you can do is have patience until the WordPress people can resolve this.
Thanks for the quick update but I already got it resolved, everything’s working fine now.
Steps:
Login to Infinity >
Select the account >
Open Cpanel >
Open Softaculous >
Press ‘Outdated Installations >
Press the WordPress Icon >
Update their and it will resolve the issue in a bit after updating WordPress it will show maintenance for 5 min. and then access the Admin Panel and update everything.
Updating through Softaculous also works, yes, and is generally more reliable than using the built-in updater. But it may not work with all plugins and themes. And sometimes Softaculous lags behind in terms of available versions.
