Unable to resize images using Smush Image Optimizer

artificialgrassinstallers.wuaze.com

(please specify the URL of the site on which you are experiencing the problem)

Smush was unable to activate parallel processing on your site as your web hosting provider has disabled the curl_multi_exec() function on your server. We highly recommend contacting your hosting provider to enable that function to optimize images on your site faster.

(please share the FULL error message you see, if applicable)

I wish to resize images on my Wordress site, but after loading the Smush plugin,I cannot and get this repetitive error message!

(other information and details relevant to your question)

Maybe try using it without “parallel processing”.

This error message is very clear — we disabled the function. No matter how hard you try you cannot fix it as this is a way to prevent possible abuse on curl function.

The message suggests that this is not an error, just a recommendation. Smush will work faster with curl_multi_exec enabled, but the message suggests it will also work without it.

curl_multi_exec is disabled because it was being used a lot for abuse, so it won’t be enabled. But that should not prevent your site from working.

How do I "Maybe try using it without “parallel processing”. I do appreciate your reply but after days of searching how to do this, I have no clue how to do this! Your advice will be greatly appreciated!

Look in the plugin settings to see if it is an option

In the documentation of Smush it says:

If your hosting provider has disabled that function, Smush will fall back to processing images sequentially, and you’ll see a notice at the top of the screen.

I’ve never used the plugin, but I would guess that you can just ignore the message and don’t need to do anything else.
