Unable to connect to the hosting account.

After logging into my account, and click on File Manager I get the error Unable to connect to the hosting account. If I type the web address of one my files it will run, but since I cannot go into the file manager area, I cannot edit the files. This situation began late last night. I also cannot click on the Control Panel, I get the following error

We are unable to log you in with the information you provided. Please check your username and password and try again 1

Thank you in advance

If you can’t login to the control panel from the client area, you need to update your hosting account password. That should solve the file manager issues as well.

Thanks you so much. That seemed to fix the problem. But why did it happen in the first place?

Did you use the password reset functionality of the control panel by any chance? The control panel passwords are synced from the client area to the control panel, but not the other way around, so you should never change your hosting account password outside the client area.

I did, because it said it did not recognize my password and asked me to reset it. Hopefully, I will have no more issues. By the way, I must compliment you on your quick responses especially for offering a free service. One last issue that I noticed, sometimes when I go into the database directly to either modify the structure of a table or insert items directly, only a portion of the table is displayed and I sometimes have to exit and reenter the sqldatabse several times before I can see all of the functions. Do you have any solutions or any reasons why this may happen?

  1. Hi Admin, I have set up my WordPress website and added things there. But when i type http://www.mydomain.com, it takes me to infinityfree website with is detail:

Let’s Make Something Awesome
Your account is all set up, it’s time to build your website!
Not sure where to start? Here are some suggestion:

Quickly build a beautiful website with the site builder.
Install a script or CMS with Softaculous.
Upload your website with FTP or a file manager.
Join the free hosting community.
But i have built the website already by installing WordPress and published a page already
what do i do now sir.
Best Regards

@masterjude Did you install it with Softaculous? If so, see this article: https://infinityfree.net/support/my-website-installed-with-softaculous-doesnt-open

Thank you admin. i have gone through the article and followed the procedure. the installation of Softaculous was done correctly and a welcome webpage showed when url was clicked on. But i went to browser and typed www.“mydomain”.“ext”. it still took me to your website giving the same message i encountered before:

Can you please open the site from the site builder and look carefully at the URL in the address bar. What is the URL you see?

Thank you Admin. But i used Softaculous to install WordPress not Site builder. in that case where should i see the URL.
thank you

Sorry, I made a mistake, that should have been Softaculous.

You can view your installed scripts by going to Softaculous, then clicking the blue tile saying Installations. That should list your installed script and the URL to which it was installed. Please make sure the URL says something like “http://[your domain]” with nothing after the [your domain] part.

If there is something after the your domain part, then you’re dealing with the exact issue the aforementioned article was written for: you installed your script to the wrong URL.

Thank you admin. i found that url has /wp after it. i deleted and installed new wordpress. this time there is nothing after URL. but when clicked on, it takes me to same forum page. following the path, it indicates that files are saved in htdocs

That’s not a community page and that’s not a redirect. When an account is created, that page is uploaded to it to show the site works. After that, it’s up to you to install your actual website.

Your site http://warriorstore.ml/ seems to be working fine, and http://chinaproductmarkets.com/ does not seem to have any software installed on it.

I am having trouble with collecting the email information. Do you have any suggestions that could help me with this issue?

May I know what files do you wnted to copy?

If it’s just a regular website, then just open FileZilla > Connect to the FTP Server > find ‘htdocs’ folder and place the file there.
htdocs is like public_html.
