Hi I’ve have had in the last two weeks two web free domains fail to work correcrtly first i lost all my work data due to a IP issue. So I started all over again with another free domain .kesug.com and that got a URL blacklist false positive so now i waisted more time. So im asking does anyone know of a good free domain that has no problems. If not im not giong to be botherd with free domains any more i’ve wasted to many hours.
Just get a paid domain that is only like 10 dollars a year for .com
But .eu.org and .pp.ua are free, just search the forum for that
Yea I’ve thought of getting a paid one but in Australia the domains are quite expensive.
Just because you’re in Australia doesn’t mean you’re required to use a .au domain, or must register the domain through an Autstralian registrar.
Most domain extensions can be registered by anyone in the world, and most registrars allow orders from anywhere in the world. So a $10 .com domain can be had by you too.
Namecheap has a deal going right now for 99 cent domain names (for 1 yr):
I don’t know if this means that you have to get hosting from them ?
Now on September 1, 2023. .com
domains will become more expensive (7% increase)
and, of course, the displayed price does not include tax, which is paid additionally, so it is even more expensive
I don’t think you must buy hosting from them. When you checkout, just use the checkout code 99SPECIAL
and the promo will be applied once you sign up to them. I also think this promo is valid for only one domain per user. Oh, and also adding what @SpookyKipper said.
Namecheap 99SPECIAL coupon is not 99 cents for .com, as it includes some icann fees so you will end up paying like 1-2 usd
True. The cheapest I’ve seen .com is like $6. But, I snagged a good domain from Namecheap yesterday for $1.18 (including ICANN fees). No hosting service is required. I think the catch is that you only can get 1 domain per customer.
Thanks for the info - I just hope they won’t charge you $25 for renewal
Any free domain is a good domain. You just got unlucky. The IP issue was not your fault, it was on infinityfree’s end, you should also backup your work daily or anytime you make changes. The blacklist that you got was most likely something that you uploaded and you should make a ticket to get your site back.
After 1 yr they charge the full price for renewal (which depends on what domain name you selected). I figure if I like the domain, and want to keep it, I’ll pay for renewal. Otherwise I’ll just get another cheap domain and switch it over. But, at least you get a year to decide.
