Hello, when trying to index a site by a search engine, the bot returns a 403 error. The permissions on the files and folders are fine. Has anyone encountered a similar problem.
Which search engine are you having issue with ?
Infinityfree web hosting has security to allow only web browsers and some search engines to access the sites, I was trying to locate a list and will post one here when I do
BTW if you have a google account you could try following the steps on googles search console https://search.google.com/search-console which may help
The search engine “Yandex” (there is one in Russia), but the “certbot” returns the same error
The Yandex crawler is blocked from accessing our servers. Their crawlers are really aggressive and generated high server load, while being responsible for only a very small fraction of legitimate traffic.
So to preserve server performance, we have decided to not allow Yandex on our servers.
As in the Let’s Encrypt Certbot? Using Certbot is great on your own server, but basically unusable for web hosting, because Certbot assumes that it has unrestricted access to the server configuration.
If you want a free SSL certificate, we provide our own tools to do so that are designed to work well with our hosting.
Thanks for the detailed answer. And then I racked my brains, thinking what I was doing wrong.
