The console account was banned without cause

Please try to avoid rendering judgement on things you know nothing about. You clearly don’t know our policies and procedures, you don’t know why that account was actually suspended, and you don’t know what happened in the ticket conversation about the account. I hope you can see that drawing conclusions entirely based on the complaints of a single unhappy website owner doesn’t exactly give you a full picture.

Because yes, there is the possibility to request a review/appeal and get more information about why the account was suspended.

Hosting providers are required by law to take down any malicious content they are aware of. Or rather, we are liable for harmful content we host unless we quickly take it down as soon as we are made aware of it.

If we are knowingly hosting, say, a phishing site, but do not take it down because we did not get a subpoena from law enforcement, then we would be an accomplice to the crime committed by the user.

Accounts are not suspended because of my opinion or based on how I feel that day. There are various automated processes to both proactively detect malicious websites, and reactively respond to abuse reports we get from external parties. It’s all quite streamlined and objective, although mistakes do happen of course.

It depends on the exact infraction. But it’s not like you can just apologize and be on your merry way. If your website does violate the terms, your account may not be reactivated, although in most cases you will be able to receive backups.

You can’t just set up some scam site and say “oh, I didn’t know” or “but it’s just for learning” and be forgiven. We do not tolerate criminals.

You don’t get a bunch of “get out of jail free cards” with every account you can use to freely break the rules a few times with no consequences.
