Hello there
How could I add subdomain directly to the vistapanel? I am using cloudflare for root domain. How can I update nameservers for subdomain??? Is there a way to connect subdomain to infinityfree??? Or is there any other way to connect domain without nameservers???
Hello there,
If you’re using Cloudflare to manage your DNS externally then first create a subdomain in the Control Panel, next go to Cloudflare’s DNS editor and then create an A record like this:
To find the I.P. address of your site, just check your other existing A records like the A record of your root domain which should have the same I.P. with your subdomain.
But my main domain is in GitHub pages.
Huh? Why you are here if you’re using a github?
I tried adding my main domain, then creating sub domain and changing nameservers back, but it showed site not reachable
I want to host subdomain, not main domain
Do you have your own custom domain?
I wanna host downloads, and all my projects are under GitHub. I heard that I am not allowed to host files in free hosting. So I used GH pages
Yes
Then just make an account on infinityfree cpanel using your own domain
and then point your domain to infinityfree nameservers
You can’t make a subdomain on infinityfree if you use or host your root domain on github. If you want to add a subdomain into your root domain then you must point your root domain nameservers to infinityfree and add your own custom domain to infinityfree.
I host my root domain there because i want forums.mydomain.com only, not myfroums.com
So why i registered on github. Hope you understand.
Yes but you can’t make a subdomain in your root domain if you host your domain on github.
Actually… you can. My domain name servers don’t point anywhere so it gives me a DNS error, whereas my sub domain is hosted with Infinityfree and is working fine.
But he needs to remove first the root domain on github in order for him to make a subdomain to infinityfree.
No he doesn’t. He needs 2 temporary NS records with his subdomain name pointing to ns1.epizy.com and ns2.epizy.com. Then he creates an account. Once completed, he will then see his server ip address in the client area. He copies it and deletes the NS records and creates an A record with the sub domain name and pastes the ip on the value box.
@katufo, you should know this since you and @Ergastolator1 helped me with this days ago!
The original poster means he wants to create a subdomain on infinityfree with the same root domain that he pointed/used on github. But how he could make if the root domain is still pointed/used on github.
Then he has to do what I posted above. It will still work.
He wants to create a subdomain (sub.thedomainongithub.com) on InfinityFree without removing the root domain on github.
