When trying to renew the SSL certificate from the Free SSL Certificates section, after clicking Create Order / Request SSL Certificate, no certificate is issued.
The message at the top says:
“Custom SSL certificates are no longer supported for free subdomains. All free subdomains have SSL by default.”
But the SSL certificate expired, and the site still shows “Not Secure” in all browsers.
Other Information
Hosting: Free InfinityFree hosting
Domain Type: Free subdomains (*.great-site.net)
Tried:
Deleted old/expired SSL certificates
Tried requesting a new certificate several times
Waited 24+ hours
Cleared cache and tried different browsers
Issue: SSL is not being automatically renewed for my free subdomains, and manual renewal is not working.
Kindly guide me on how to fix this or if SSL for free subdomains is permanently disabled.
If your browser says “Not Secure”, that doesn’t mean that there is something wrong with your SSL setup, it simply means that no SSL is being used at all. If you click the link in your own post, as opposed to typing it yourself, you’ll see that it has valid SSL.
All free subdomains support HTTPS by default, but whether you actually want to use it is up to you.
If you do want everyone to use HTTPS, then you need to enforce that yourself:
