Subdomain CNAME records cause redirection to suspend page

Good Morning,

Please can someone help with the below.

powerbi.timhuntington.co.uk (doesnt work) CNAME points to powerbi.timhuntington.infinityfreeapp.com (does work) using external DNS

(removed links to avoid unfortunate forum limitation)

I have checked DNS propagation but can see no issues

I have used chrome incognito mode to check for cache issues but issue persists.

The limitation is unfortunate as I think I’ll now have to move my hosting elsewhere.
Thanks for letting me know so I don’t spend more time trying to make it work.
odd though as timhuntington.co.uk uses a cname record so I guess its a combination of subdomain and cname.

Hi,

I know I managed to get it working in the end by doing the following.

1. Temporarily change one of the name servers to point to the first epizy one
2. Add parked domain
3. revert step 1.

This is similar to what I had to initially do with my main domain but am surprised its also necessary with subdomains.

By “External DNS service” do you mean Cloudflare? If that is correct, you need am A record for subdomains as well.

I use 1984 hosting’s free DNS. They are at war with cloudfare and have always been for all time until they are not and have never been.

You can use Cloudflare with IF if you want. That is what we recommend. However, if you have it working now, I would just leave it, but if it ever stops working, I would use Cloudflare instead.
