Sub-directory error

subdirectory for my forums is not working when i create it, I tried creating it regularly and it works just fine without the subdomain, Any help would be appreciated

Tried to create it using a sub domain for my phpbb forums and that didnt work, tried to do it regularly for xryu dot org / forums and it works just fine, so i dont know what i’m doing wrong

Unfortunately, I was unable to understand the question you just posted.
What do you mean by “subdirectory not working” and “create it regularly”?
Are you trying to say that installing phpBB in the root htdocs won’t work? If so, how did you installed it?

So when I go to create a sub-catagory such as forums.xryu.org and than make phpbb forum under that directory for the forums it pops up as this page cannot be reached, when I try to do a redirect to forums.xryu.org it does the same thing, Just trying to make it easier to access my forums so its under a sub-catagory.

Just to be clear: is the “sub-category” you are talking about right just subdomains?

Since you are using cloudflare, you must also create an associated A record like this one:

forum.xryu.org A 3600 185.27.134.xxx

Otherwise, the domain won’t resolve at all, and it won’t help to just fiddle with the “Domains” tool in our control panel.

Wasn’t sure what needed to be done, thank you for your help.

Well, all you need to do is to create a correct records in cloudflare. I don’t know what’s so hard? If you have problem understanding the instructions, could you please tell us which exact part you have trouble understanding?

That’s all I needed to know, wasnt sure if it was a DNS issue, or if it was something on the infinityfree side.

From what I can tell, it’s a DNS issue. Otherwise you won’t be able to install anything into that domain in the first place.
