I’m having a small problem; my free SSL certificate expired. I tried to generate another one, but it’s causing a conflict. I noticed some instability, and the SSL certificate is asking me to change the nameservers. I’ve already made the change in my .shop domain.
Can you please share your domain so we can check it?
Judging by the fact that the detected nameservers are “dns-expired.com”, my guess is that your domain name may have expired. If so, the domain name will not be working, which means you also cannot obtain SSL certificates for it.
If you can tell me the domain name, I can check this for you. But you can also go ahead and check this issue with your domain name provider because I’m pretty sure that the issue is on their end.
In general, the nameserver check doesn’t lie, and displays the nameservers that your domain name is actually using. If that doesn’t match what you’ve configured with your domain name provider, then you should ask your domain name provider for help.

Thank you.
I looked up the domain name on whois.nic.shop and I see a few things:
- The domain status is clientTransferProhibited and autoRenewPeriod.
- The domain’s registrar is Hostinger.
- The domain was registered on the 19th of April last year.
- The nameservers shown in WHOIS are also ns1/2.dns-expired.com.
The domain dns-expired.com is also registered with Hostinger.
Based on this, my best guess is that the domain name expired on the 19th of April, and Hostinger changed the nameservers to take down the domain.
This proves what I told you before: the domain name has expired, and you need to renew it with your domain registrar (Hostinger) to keep using the domain. This is not something we can help you with, we are not your domain registrar and cannot help you with matters relating to your domain name registration.
I changed the nameserver to ns1.infinityfree.com,
about a day ago, but I still haven’t been able to resolve the issue. Hostinger support said everything is fine with the domain.
Your domain is expired. You need to renew your domain before you can use it. Login to your Hostinger control panel and renew your domain.
