SSL Certificate Issue

Dear InfinityFree Support,

I recently signed up for your free hosting and domain service . I successfully applied for an SSL certificate, which was issued within two days. However, when I attempted to connect it to my WordPress site, I encountered an error stating that the SSL certificate was not found.

Could you please check this issue on your end and assist in resolving it at your earliest convenience?

I appreciate your support and look forward to your response.

Best regards,

What is the “it” that you are trying to connect to your WordPress site?

Normally, you can just setup an SSL certificate on your website, and configure WordPress to use a HTTPS URL.

Without a SSL Certificate you will get an error every time a user visit your site using http(s). If you use http without the s the connection is insecure and the error will not popup. If you do not intend to use personal information like emails or passwords then you don’t need SSL. Wait for approval and implement the certificate.

I can think of two places that might give this error:

The client area: It just takes time for it to fetch the new certificate. Hence why it says “it might take 15 minutes”.
Make sure to do this as well:

Softaculous: Due to Softaculous not being flawlessly implemented, it always says “A trusted SSL certificate was not found”, despite whether a certificate is actually installed or not. Just ignore that and proceed.
