My domain did not have a ssl certificate so I had to purchase one. Once I got the cert, I uploaded it by going to Control Panel → SSL → Configure and pasted the cert content. I did not get any error so I assume it had no errors. By when I go to https://www.sslshopper.com/ssl-checker to check the status it still says self signed. Not sure what I am doing wrong. Please let me know if you need any other information. Thanks for the help
You need to wait from 30 minutes to 24 hours for the certfificate changes to propagate.

Now when I check the SSL checker, I get this error
The certificate is not trusted in all web browsers. You may need to install an Intermediate/chain certificate to link it to a trusted root certificate… You can fix this by following Sectigo’s Certificate Installation Instructions for your server platform (use these instructions for InstantSSL). Pay attention to the parts about Intermediate certificates.
Please help me out with this.
I just checked https://vmamapi.com/ and it’s responding with a valid SSL certificate to me.

Also, installing certificate chains isn’t supported on free hosting yet.

But the browser shows it not secure. It’s because the CA root cert is not installed.
I checked again using Chromium for Android and the certificate is valid. So, only some devices don’t support Sectigo certificates without a certificate chain.

Actually, I think it’s fixed (maybe needed some time to settle in), no more SSL error on Safari iOS 12
