Solution for PWA ( Progressive Web Apps )

I have literally been working on this for a LOT of hours, and I believe the solution was modifying the .htaccess that you do have access to (in the htdocs folder), but also a combination of everything could have been the solution.

This DOES NOT fix the PWABuilder “Error 500” issue, however, I was still able to download the PWA in my browser, so that’s still a big plus.

Used the Samsung Internet Browser, haven’t tested on any other browser just yet, but I am assuming it works on those also.

I’m sorry, but Progressive Web Apps are not supported on InfinityFree.

Well, it looks as if their goal was not to explicitly restrict the use of PWAs, but rather it was just an unintended consequence. So, if it is not explicitly banned, and a user were to use the same methods I provided above, then there should be no problem; and believe me, it does work.

So let me get this clear: you are saying that you were able to setup a PWA on our hosting? Mainly due to the .htaccess code being used?

If so, that would be a very big surprise to me! I didn’t think it was possible. If you say it works, I can test it and write an article about this for others wanting to do the same.

If you are willing to put your findings into a guide, I’d be more than happy to accept it into the Community Guides. But no pressure, just finding this out is already a fantastic change!

I am getting this error when attempting to create post there, “You’re not allowed to create topics in this category”

Your trust level is low so you probably didn’t get sufficient permissions:

Now this is just a reference. You would want to work harder to get higher trust level, but I honestly have no idea what level you would need to post in Community Guides . (After all this is a special setting in this forum only.)

I’m sorry about that. You must be at least Trust Level 1 to submit a topic to the Community Guides. TL1 is very easy to achieve, when you just participate in the forum you should have it within a couple of days.

But given the circumstances, I manually bumped you to TL1 so you should be able to submit the article now.
