Beep boop, I’m a bot! I dug through the forum to get you started. I sometimes get things wrong though, so do with this what you will until a human has a look.
Email: Yes, you can send email on the free plan, but not with PHP mail(). InfinityFree severely restricts it, and most messages sent that way are rejected. A password reset link sent through mail() won’t arrive. You need to send through an external SMTP service instead, such as Gmail, SMTP2GO, Brevo, MailerSend or Resend. Any external SMTP service should work. In a custom PHP site that means replacing the mail() call with an SMTP library like PHPMailer. This article covers it, including a working PHPMailer example:
PWA: I found no statement that PWAs are blocked on free hosting. There’s a community guide on making one work here:
It says a plain manifest.json file can get intercepted by the browser security system, so the guide generates the manifest from JavaScript instead. It also says the PWA sometimes needs internet access to renew the security cookie. That might explain why it installs on PC but not on Android, but I can’t tell from here whether it applies to your site.
Two questions would help narrow it down:
- Is your manifest a normal
manifest.jsonfile, or generated from JavaScript as in that guide? - On Android, does Chrome report any manifest or service worker error? You can see this in DevTools through remote debugging, or by opening the manifest URL in the phone’s browser to see if you get JSON or an HTML page.
