I setup an account on July 18th at http://rldo.epizy.com, and setup a SMF forum shortly thereafter. I haven’t logged into the site control panel since then, until today. Over the weekend the SMF forum stopped working, giving this error:
Connection Problems
Sorry, SMF was unable to connect to the database. This may be caused by the server being busy. Please try again later.
When I got into the CPL it appears that SMF isn’t installed, but I cannot install it using the /smf directory because of course it already exists. I don’t know what happened to the SMF install, but any help would be appreciated.
If you’re OK with reinstalling it, that should fix this issue too. If you want to use the same URL, make sure you delete the existing installation first (you can do so the same way you installed it).
I’m not sure what you mean by CPL though. Is that some SMF system?
CPL is the website Control Panel. I don’t mind reinstalling, but I don’t want to lose all the topics and posts I have, and I’m not sure how to do that? I don’t understand why it stopped working? There’s only one person with admin access (me), and I haven’t changed anything.

I don’t understand it either, because I don’t know SMF. Please help me understand by doing some troubleshooting yourself. The article I linked to might be able to get you started.
I finally got it working. Someone changed the database connection details in the SMF settings.php file. Since it wasn’t me, and it wasn’t anyone from my group (nobody else has admin access), then it had to be an outside source.
