I’m trying to migrate my site using the all-in-one WP migration plugin for wordpress. Part of the process involved uploading the backup file which is 1.2 GB. When I try this I get an error that my max file upload is 128 MB by my server configuration. Is there a way to fix this for a free hosting account?

No. Backups plugins don’t work here because they require a lot of server power, and involve uploading huge files. If possible, extract the file and import it manually, or follow the recommend procedure from both IF and WordPress:

Thanks but the backup file is in a proprietary .wpress format so extracting stuff from that is not possible.

I only have a Windows PC to work with but I’ll look into it

You can run Node on windows quite easily.

I wasn’t aware that there was a tool to extract wpress files.

But alternatively, if you have a local development environment with XAMPP or something like it, you could also install WordPress locally, import the backup, and then migrate that website to our hosting.
