Hi all, I was wondering where the free hosting servers are located. Like, in the US, Canada, Montenegro? Or multiple places?

Okay, good. Atm, “not in the US,” is my priority.
Probably a silly question, but is there a reason for not wanting us servers?
Quite a few but websites like Google and Facebook have many US servers… Just wondering that’s all. Feel free to tell me to mind my own lol

Data protection is a good reason. The US doesn’t have the best track record when it comes to privacy. While the UK is no longer in the EU, the UK Data Protection Act is based on the GDPR and provides similar protection.
Which is why some people choose to avoid such companies.
Some people don’t care about that, or at least don’t care as much, but for the more privacy conscious it’s a good thing to know.

Fair enough. I just wondered because it seemed an unusual request, and when I dont understand something I like to learn about it 
Insert flashbacks to my training with Experian… I spent so long studying GDPR and DPA. I shall avoid the urge to provide a history lesson on the two lol.
Thats fair, I use a VPN for privicy. But ever since I worked with the Databreach team, and discovered that on averave 300-500 pices of personal data are stolen every day in the UK, I’ve got a bit paranoid.
I don’t use the VPN here, because it breaks the adds. But other than that, 99% of the internet think I’m based in Australia… I wish, get away from this horrid cold weather haha

Admin is more or less right. The US has poor data protection policies and with the current administration, that could become a much greater problem.
Especially since my site is going to have things like, “here’s where to get LGBT+ books that might be banned in your area.” And “use Tor maybe.” Or, “at least stop using Chrome.”

I’m in the UK, but I’ve been following the recent … issues… with the current US administration. Honestly, I don’t know how the election went that way, but not really my place to say that really.
